The new Davenport Green development forms part of the Places for Everyone (PfE) Joint Development Plan for nine Greater Manchester boroughs.
Located in South Trafford’s suburban edge, close to Manchester Airport and bordered by the M56, it represents a key strategic site for future investment and growth.
The development will bring forward 2,500 new homes (almost half of them affordable), creating a vibrant, inclusive community supported by 60,000 sqm of high‑quality commercial space and a brand‑new rural park.
A proposed Metrolink stop at Davenport Green, delivered as part of the Western Leg extension of the Manchester Airport line, will transform connectivity across the area.
Residents and businesses will benefit from fast, direct links to Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester Airport, and Manchester City Centre.
Looking further ahead, emerging plans for Northern Powerhouse Rail include a major new rail hub within the Davenport Green allocation, just west of the M56.
The proposed station would open up fast, direct connections to cities across the north of England — strengthening the area's role as a key regional gateway.
